In einer Rundfunkmeldung vom 11.5. 1951, die \u00fcber den <em>Chinese International Service<\/em> ausgestrahlt wurde, hei\u00dft es:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As a rule the degradation and degeneration of the American Army organization affects the individual life of the troops. The main function of the American Special Service Division is to provide the GI&#8217;s with obscene and sexy magazines and papers and fantasy story books. Among the belongings of the American POW&#8217;s are nude snapshots, lewd pictures, and prophylactic rubbers. The prophylactic kit is a legal army supply item for the American soldiers. According to (name given&#8212;Ed.), when the troops were stationed in Japan, the majority of the officers and men frequented the brothels from five to seven times a week, thus weakening their bodies and directly reducing their fighting spirit.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><small>(DAILY REPORT. FOREIGN RADIO BROADCASTS (FBIS-FRB-51-100), S. 2, 11.5.1951)<\/small><\/p>\n<p>Sachlich ist dies nichts Neues, diese Aspekte der Arbeit der Special Service Division sind schon aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg bekannt und direkt mit der Problematik der &#8222;Trostfrauen&#8220; verkn\u00fcpft (die ja auch w\u00e4hrend des Koreakrieges sowohl in Japan als auch in S\u00fcdkorea f\u00fcr amerikanische Soldaten angeheuert wurden). Die US-amerikanische Argumentation daf\u00fcr lautete jedoch gerade umgekehrt, da\u00df man durch solche &#8222;Dienste&#8220; die Kampfmoral der Truppe steigere!
